Good choice

1 week ago by Vinay445 views

1000 km and it's a pretty good ride so far. It's comfortable for long rides as well as city commuting. About mileage, I haven't tested it properly but I guess I have gotten 35 plus. It has good suspension. The only con I can think of is the tank might get a little heated after some time, especially in the city/slow traffic. I had my first service and it costs about 1.45k. The showroom here at Thrissur is good with a warm reception from staff

I wanted to buy a tvs ntorq or similar for my daily commuting (about 15 kilometers daily) and my younger brother suggested taking a test ride of other tvs bikes which looked fancy. With no intention of buying, I took the test ride of rtr 160 and found the seat and riding posture a bit cramped for my liking. Also, the throttle felt kinda jumpy to me. Now when I laid my eyes on Ronin it looked kinda different and way too much loud and wild for my liking. Still, I thought of taking the test ride. The moment I sat on Ronin it was a different experience. The seat was so comfortable and the riding posture was upright. The instrumentation console was also striking. I went back home so that i sleep over the idea of buying tvs ntorq but I could not resist owning a Ronin.
The next day I paid in full and brought the bike home. It was sure a looker, and I am a shy kinda person but this bike turns heads and I have been getting so much attention on rode. The design is polarising but I like it and so far I have been asked many times about this bike on the road. The torque on the entire rev range felt more than capable, and it also sounds very exciting. I use this for my daily commute with a mix of highway and city traffic and i have been getting a mileage of 46-44 after the first service. This bike is also straightforward to drive and you can literally run this at 20km/hr on 4th gear (not recommended but you can if you try) headlights are good, rest all instrumentation and pickup is also good.
Overall I am very very happy and would definitely recommend this bike to someone upgrading from a 100-110cc or a scooter.

They are sending products without prior quality checks. And after that, you need to knock the door of the service center several times.
Service: 1 out of 5 ( most important thing. Nobody will listen to you. I had to beg every possible door to solve my engine noise. Finally, they were replaced after a continuous struggle of 4 months. I lost all the happiness of a new bike already. But after everything I can say Ronin is having a huge noise issue, chain + engine + tappet.)
Features: 2 out of 5 - reason: Chinese company products also provide a lot of features but it's not sustainable.
Tyre grip: 3/5 (grip is good but the gap between tire cuts is soft, hence puncture chances are high, already experienced.)
Overall: 2/5 (overall bike is lightweight, power of weight ratio is good, pick up is good. But it's lightweight the ride long ride quality will not be up to the mark)
Road presence: 4/5 (road presence is good, the exhaust sound is good but not as good as Honda Hness)
Heating: 2.5/5 engine heating is there you will feel in long rides as well as bumper-to-bumper traffic. But manageable.
Compare to other products in the market: it cost around 2.21l on the road, and with a few accessories like ladies' footrest, tour kit, and back support it will go beyond 2.3lpa. But there is no comparison with Honda Hness. Hness is far far ahead of this in terms of the quality, and exhaust sound.
And Re Hunter brand value can't be compared with Tvs.
Hence the sale also down of this ronin. Not a successful vehicle.

I was looking to buy my first bike and I am glad I went with the TVS Ronin. I was about to buy the MT-1 but when TVS Ronin launched, I knew it was my bike. The look was very mesmerizing for me. My friends were telling me to buy RE Hunter but when they drive it they realized that I had made the right choice. Everything is perfect in this bike. The Performance, sound, looks everything. Parts availability is the issue for me. I want a new indicator but the service center is unable to arrange for me. Except that it's amazing.

    2) Talking about riding one of the most comfortable bike I rode, Doesn't feel any pain even after riding 100+km in one go. Have ride of 400+km for 5 times feels like riding a horse.
    3) Looks are okay for me but for many people its eye-catching.
    4) I can't say much about servicing but cost me about 1k rs for the first free servicing will write more after paid service
    5) Pro- excellent for a daily commute and for road trips on occasions
Cons-2-3 times engine light indicator was shown and the bike automatically turned off after again switching off and on key it started.

    1) buying experience(6/10) - I bought it in kolkata and the sales team were very active to pitch the product. However, I felt that post the payment they all left me alone to navigate and get the delivery of my bike. I am used to seeing big key handovers for bikes and all on Instagram and Facebook and however, nothing happened with me and I felt a little bit disappointed. Maybe it happened in that particular showroom of tvs and when asked how much petrol is there in the tank they mentioned sufficient enough to reach the nearest petrol pump and I was surprised as for a fuel injection machine a minimum of 3 liters needs to be in the tank and when asked for it they said: "petrol bahot mehenga hai" . So overall the room experience could have been better.
    2) riding experience (8/10):- my t-rex is very comfortable to ride with beautiful ergonomics and comfort at every rev. The shocker absorbs most of the bumps. However, if you are looking for excitement then the ronin is not for you. The Rev doesn't feel powerful the one you can feel on maybe honda cb300f (same price). It sure catches the eyes here and there. I am loving the experience as I am a little bit of a boring kinda person who doesn't want high speeds. The highway experience was good either. Ronin can cruise comfortably at 80-85 kmph , anything above 90 gives a little bit tough time to the engine -7/10. City drives cannot be more comfortable - 10/10 on this. Rain is a little bit of pain in the back, like literally as the is a lot of mud bounces from the back and it would ruin the back of the pillion or rider. Tried finding a proper tire hugger but the position of the rear mudguard is very awkward to place any tire hugger.
3 details about looks, performance, etc(8/10)- ronin's looks are very subjective, so I am giving just my opinion - I find it very handsome and dashing - the grey color looks fabulous on the beast and everything clicks -the front is work of marvel. It's beautiful and sexy to look at.
Performance is quite good as well as expected the square engine produces distributed power at every gear quite nicely and you don't feel under-powered at any gear, even the fifth. The torque and power may look less as compared to any other 200+ cc bike but to be very honest it was designed like this itself. Bluetooth connection is poorly made - just plain stupid - dte is inconsistent even if you are a consistent rider with 4000rpm and maintaining below 55kmph. Mileage ranged from 36-40 (36,40,38 before the first service and 38 after the first service). No engine heating issues were found. After the first service top speed was achieved with the pillion 115 kmph.
    4) service and maintenance(na) -service was quite fast and not sure what they did. Surely changed the air filter and mobil however I noticed they did not was my bike. Maybe I kept it clean that's why.
    5)pros -
    A) looks are beautiful
B)seats are very comfortable for the rider
    C)shock absorbers are very good.
    D)high beam very good.
    E)engine is very smooth.
    F) front abs work amazingly.
    Cons-
A)badly made right mirror which is just poorly designed.
B)low beam light is not sufficient at all.
    C) mudguard is ineffective and spills water.
    D) training not given on new bike ronin to the engineers in the workshop.
    E)bad sales team.
    F) disc plates are cheap quality,
    G)rear brakes are just bad.
Overall take your decision by yourself, I love the bike and plan to stick to it till T-rex doesn't give up my overall rating is 8/10. What about you?

I recently purchased the tvs ronin 225 and had the opportunity to take it on a 180 km trip. Overall, my experience with this bike has been quite impressive. Although the aesthetics may not have won me over, the smoothness and ease of riding certainly did.
One of the standout features of the ronin 225 is its comfort. Throughout my trip, i found the bike to be extremely comfortable, allowing me to ride for long hours without any fatigue or discomfort. The seating position and ergonomics are well-designed, contributing to a pleasant riding experience.
I opted for the dual abs model, and i must say it was a great choice. Navigating through traffic has become much easier, thanks to the precise and responsive braking system. It provides a sense of security and control, especially in busy city roads.
One of the features i was looking forward to was the gps support offered by the ronin. However, i found it to be somewhat unreliable. There were instances when the gps would lose signal or provide inaccurate directions. This aspect could definitely be improved upon in future iterations.
When it comes to performance, the ronin 225 does not disappoint. The bike's brakes are excellent, offering quick stopping power when needed. Additionally, the sound of the engine is impressive, providing a satisfying roar that enhances the overall riding experience.
During the initial period of owning the bike, i encountered a minor issue with one of the mirrors. However, this was promptly resolved after the first service. It's worth mentioning that the service center experience was satisfactory, but one drawback is the limited number of service centers that support the ronin model in bangalore. It would be more convenient if there were more service centers across the city to cater to ronin owners.
In conclusion, the tvs ronin 225 is a reliable and comfortable bike that delivers a smooth and enjoyable ride. While the aesthetics may not be its strongest suit, it more than compensates with its performance, comfortable riding position, and efficient braking system. Despite some hiccups with the gps and limited service center availability, the overall experience with the ronin 225 has been highly satisfying.
In addition to the aforementioned aspects, the tvs ronin 225 comes equipped with a range of features, including bluetooth connectivity and call functionality. However, personally, i found these features to be less useful in practice. While they may seem convenient on paper, i rarely found myself using them during my rides. In my opinion, the focus on core performance and comfort features would be more beneficial for riders seeking a reliable and enjoyable experience on the ronin 225.

Pros & cons are as below:
    Pros.-
    - sitting posture is very comfortable
    - looks are impressive, definitely an eye-catcher in traffic.
    - power output is good for daily commutes.
    - easy to manoeuvre in traffic.
    - value for money
    Cons.-
    - at some points, fit & finish could have been better.
    - gear shifting malfunction (sometimes move ahead even when the bike is in neutral, gear sensor also changed, still problem persists)
    - major concern is about the alignment of the bike. Most of the Ronin owners, I have talked to, are facing the issue that the bike pulls towards the left & the worst part is that the service centres are still unaware of how to resolve this issue. I have already sent my bike to tvs service centre for this issue but the problem still persists. ( chain sprocket checked, suspension checked, handlebar checked, only handle t is left to check).
If only these 2 issues are resolved by tvs, I can say that it is the best bike in this price segment

    Buying experience: 1/5: a middle-class person buys a motorcycle once in a 10yr or 5yr.
Riding experience: 3/5: it's a heavy bike with a large turn radius, so for a city commute bit tricky.
Looks: 4/5. Pretty good-looking, with a premium feel.
Servicing/maintenance: it's my first tvs and fuel-injected bike and I told them but no guidance. On the first day of delivery, they said 1 liter of fuel is there after just 8 kms fuel got over, and we put in 2.5 liters of fuel but it didn't start, at last, in the night we had to push the bike to 1 km. Tweeted, and called in all possible ways but no help right on the first day and no help on the second day also. Don't expect great service.
After spending 2 lakh rupees on a top model, I get unreliable servicing, fake promises, and an unknown future with tvs.
It is not enough to make a good product. Hospitality, buying experience and service experience are equally important for the success of product.
P.S. Wise are the ones who learn from others' mistakes.
    Happy riding, and best wishes.
