In Benling’s India portfolio of electric scooters, the Icon sits above the entry-level Kriti. With a top speed of 25kmph and profoundly compact dimensions, the Icon is mainly a short-distance urban commuter. It runs on a 250W/60V brushless motor which is powered by a 60V/20Ah lead acid battery. One can also have it with a more expensive lithium-ion battery. The riding range is rated at 75km while the time it takes for getting fully charged is around four hours (lead acid) and seven to eight hours (lithium-ion).
The styling of the Icon is quite quirky with a naked handlebar, short visor, and an angular front apron with a round headlamp in the centre. The tail lamp of the e-scooter is particularly eye-catchy with a radical design. As for the available colour options, there are the dynamic-looking white and red shades, and the understated matte black colour.
The Icon comes equipped with a decent amount of features such as a USB charging port, integrated locking system, regenerative braking system, anti-theft protection alarm, and smart breakdown assistance. All the necessary details are displayed on an LCD console. The wheels of the Icon are shod with tubeless tyres which are suspended by telescopic forks and a monoshock. Stopping power comes from a disc up front and a drum at the rear.
