About Tuono V4 APRC

Aprilia calls its Tuono V4 APRC as the best naked big bike out there. What the Tuono really is, is a semi faired version of the brand’s flagship offering – the RSV4. Introduced in 2011, the motorcycle offers a variety of rider aids and a genuine superbike level of performance.

Aprilia uses the same compact V4 engine for the Tuono which the brand also puts in the RSV4 superbike. Here however, the engine has been tweaked to offer a friendly power delivery suitable for everyday riding. Revving all the way till 12,300 rpm, Aprilia claims a power output in the region of 168bhp at 11,500 rpm for this 999cc V4 engine.

The Tuono’s engine uses a heavier flywheel and new valve timing as compared to the RSV4. The bike also features a slipper clutch. Both APRC and non-APRC versions offer a total of three riding modes: T (track), S (sport) and R (road).

The motorcycle’s arch rival comes in the form of the Triumph Speed Triple which has been recently introduced in the market.
