About Scrambler

Yezdi Scrambler is a bike available at a starting price of Rs. 2,10,368 in India. It is available in 6 variants and 7 colours with top variant price starting from Rs. 2,18,246. The Yezdi Scrambler is powered by 334cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 28.7 bhp and a torque of 28.2 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Yezdi Scrambler comes up with anti-locking braking system. This Scrambler bike weighs 192 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 12.5 liters.

Classic Legends has introduced the Yezdi Scrambler in the Indian market. This new, retro-style motorcycle uses a 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that is linked to a six-speed gearbox and produces 28.7bhp at 8,000rpm and 28.2Nm at 6,750rpm.

In terms of styling, the new Yezdi Scrambler features a neo-retro design with a rugged persona that is aimed for soft off-roading. The styling cues comprise a tall front fender, wire-spoke wheels, upswept exhaust canisters, a curvy fuel tank, a chrome fuel lid, an off-set instrument cluster, a ribbed pattern for the seat cover, and a tyre hugger-mounted rear numberplate. The feature list includes full-LED lighting and a digital instrument cluster, however, it misses Bluetooth connectivity. Other standard features on the Scrambler include handlebar-mounted USB and Type-C charging points and a three-level ABS.

The hardware on the Scrambler includes twin-sided rear springs and telescopic front forks. The wire-spoke wheels come in 19-inch front and 17-inch rear diameters and they’re wrapped in tube-type tyres. The braking tasks are handled by single discs on both ends while the safety net is handled by Continental-sourced ABS.

The motorcycle is available in six colours – Fire Orange, Outlaw Olive, Yelling Yellow, Midnight Blue, Mean Green, and Rebel Red.

BikeWale's Take

The Scrambler from Yezdi is one of the coolest looking bikes ever went on sale in India. The combination of great styling, good performance and features makes the Scrambler quite aspirational.

Yezdi Scrambler Review

India is quite new to the world of scramblers. There have been few in the market but either they are too expensive or just a cosmetic answer to the word scrambler.

Introduction

Yezdi Scrambler Right Side View

Why to buy it?

- Looks fantastic

- Lots of modern features

- Multiple charging options

Why to avoid it?

- 334cc engine has poor NVH

- Stiffer springs at the back

- Overall quality isn't upto the mark

India is quite new to the world of scramblers. There have been few in the market but either they are too expensive or just a cosmetic answer to the word scrambler. But slowly, it has been picking up momentum in the affordable spectrum, thanks to Yezdi. The brand launched a motorcycle called ‘Scrambler’ and to be honest, it is more than just a cosmetic scrambler. We had a test motorcycle for a few days, and we made sure to make full use of it.

Styling & Quality

Yezdi Scrambler Left Side View

Now, this is where the Yezdi Scrambler scores the most. Obviously, there’s no rating system here, but a quick look at the Scrambler makes you give it full marks. There are a lot of things that the brand has gotten right when it comes to the aesthetics of the motorcycle. Firstly, the design flow – starting from the front fender to the fuel tank and seat and finally, the tail section. The lines are clean and there aren’t a lot of components to give the motorcycle a disproportionate look. Then, fork gaiters, dual-purpose tyres, scrambler seat, and handguards bring out the ruggedness of the motorcycle. This combination makes the Scrambler an extremely aspirational motorcycle.

Yezdi Scrambler Tail Light

But then it starts to lose some points when we get into its quality aspect. The overall fit and finish aren’t up to the mark. The plastic quality could have been so much better. In fact, the chassis welds look quite poor and then there’s the tail rack that is hugely misaligned. These aspects clearly showcase the lack of finesse while assembling this motorcycle.

Ergonomics & Comfort

Yezdi Scrambler Front View

The Scrambler gets a super accessible seat height. So it is quite friendly for all kinds of riders. However, once on the motorcycle, the taller riders could face some issues. While the overall seating ergonomics are quite good, thanks to a wider handlebar, centre-set footpegs, and wide seat, the higher position of the rider’s pegs makes things a tad uncomfortable. Now the bike feels fine in the city, but when you are on the saddle for long hours, that angular legs position creates some stress on the lower body. And sadly, there’s no fix for this.

Performance & Handling

Yezdi Scrambler Front View

The 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor offers healthy performance figures. We are talking about 28.7bhp of peak power and 28.2Nm of torque. Now honestly, the numbers might be less impressive for some, but in the real world, the Scrambler churns out a good riding experience. The bike has linear and accessible power delivery. It has the ability to quickly reach triple-digit speeds and stay there for long. The throttle is responsive and crisp. However, the overall experience of this motor makes it less aspirational. The engine is vibey, feels harsh most of the time, and doesn’t want to stay at higher revs for long.

Yezdi Scrambler Right Rear Three Quarter

That said, in the city, the Scrambler feels involving to ride. It gets a wider handlebar and that means you have more leverage. It feels lighter to ride around the city traffic. The clutch is light to use. The gear shifts are precise. The brakes, too, work quite well with good bite and progression. All these factors make the Scrambler a good city companion.

Yezdi Scrambler Left Front Three Quarter

The bike doesn’t really have the ground clearance that is needed for hardcore off-road fun and the travel on the front suspension is not too much. This clearly suggests that the Yezdi scrambler is more of an urban city bike. But to be honest, I had a lot of fun with the Scrambler. The motorcycle is super easy to ride. You can manoeuvre the way you want it. The wide handlebar allows you to have more control off-road. While the turning radius is quite large, the bike gives you the option to just slide the rear and get a quick turn done. This is obviously only possible in the off-road ABS where there’s no ABS activated at the rear wheel.

Features & Tech

Yezdi Scrambler Instrument Cluster

The folks at Yezdi have managed to give this bike some relevant features. It gets liquid-cooling, a six-speed gearbox, and LED lights throughout. Then there are the multiple riding modes that also control the ABS. So when the off-road riding mode is activated, the ABS at the rear wheel is disabled. The instrument cluster gets a good layout, but it performs extremely poorly in daylight conditions. The fonts and the data were not legible at all. However, at night, things are far easier.

Yezdi Scrambler USB Charging Port

The Scrambler is also equipped with USB as well as Type-C charging, which honestly, is a really good feature to have. However, the placement of this feature looks more like an afterthought.

Fuel Efficiency

Yezdi Scrambler Rear View

The Yezdi Scrambler returned a fuel efficiency of just 23kmpl and to be honest, this number is quite poor for a motorcycle this size. So, with a fuel tank capacity of 12.5litres, the Scrambler can be ridden for approximately 280km before needing to enter a fuel station.

Should you buy it?

Yezdi Scrambler Left Side View

The Scrambler looks fantastic. Its overall design traits make it extremely aspirational. Then there are the features – it is not too exhaustive but things like multiple riding modes, switchable ABS, and phone charging options make it an excellent choice for daily as well as weekend use. And there’s the brand value of Yezdi that makes a lot of riders associate with it. However, this bike is still not a perfect package and definitely not a value for money – blame the unimpressive quality, harsh sound engine, and stiff rear springs. You should buy the new Yezdi Scrambler if you are in the market for something new, stylish, and want something that can be a little friendly in the dirt, but are also ready to live with some of its above-mentioned irritations.

I am driving this bike from last 7 months, 22-23km mileage is very less for 349cc bike. Engine overheating is a major problem for Yazdi riders. I get very disappointed. The headlight is also of poor quality. No one would want to buy Yezdi bike. When people will know about Yezdi's performance. I would also recommend not buying

      Just think about it

Just to let you know, wonderfully designed bike with great initial torque. I had too much fun after riding a mini beast, it's not better than a continental gt but it is way too much better for a 300 to 400 cc segment. I even took a small ride in rc390 but the comfort is not better than Yezdi, you will feel the pull in all gears.
But the heating issue will make your legs go tandoori, so make sure to wear all your gear or else you will feel a lot.
The design is not too bad, but I liked the way Yezdi adventure is designed, and to compare between re Himalayan and Yezdi adventure I would really go to Yezdi adventure. I am not here to say Himalayan is bad, but we can see too many specifications and upgrades in the Yezdi adventure series.
Last but not least, if you need fun to begin your riding journey in a 300cc segment definitely go for a Yezdi motorcycles manner, it will definitely not let you get bored.

      Tips for other riders

Don't give your bike to an other guy, he will make sure to break it and he will not let you know about it and later your bike will face issues.

The bike is comfortable with good handling.
If someone is looking for a different bike in 350cc I recommend yezdi scrambler
In the city or highway, the brake function is excellent. Whether it off road or on-road bike ride will be smooth it comes with off-road mode, and rain mode options. Suspension is very good.No middle stand only the side stand.
      The cooling system is good.

Lack of testing the bike function

      Kiran

Not good to ride ts motorcycle for a long as overheating is a major problem for most of all yezdi scramblers released also mileage drop and meter console don’t work apt with an indication of the speed and petrol level. While changing the riding mode it was not working as expected and some nuts and bolts of the bike got loose automatically and had an experience of the petrol outer cap broken automatically.

Yezdi scrambler-good brand with lot of bads.

      Manikandan

The first impression went bad on the sales team at kings motor madipakkam branch, providing the wrong commitment. A feel-good riding posture and comfort but you can't see the speedometer on sunny days and the clutch seems so hard while shifting. Look & engine performance is major pros and 22-25kmpl is what you can expect on this bike. My bike is just 4months old but I can see a heck lot of rusting from engine exhaust outlets. Service is another hell, they write our problems but they don't look after them. After leaving my bike for 2nd time only they will listen to what I said. Look & engine is the only pros, all others are cons.

So basically everyone thinks that this bike has a heating issue, but the thing is nowadays every bike has a heating issue the thing is once you love your bike then nothing makes you feel dislike the bike, you know that 350cc bikes will have a heating issue for sure that's the reason they need to go fast so that you can't feel the heat, and coming to perform it goes like a rocket in the budget you can get a scrambler that is a great thing only problem is the seat except that there are no issues with the bike. That's why it is not for the saints heart.
